Is it just me or does this reminds you of the dragon from never-ending story?

If this is the GWP chilli crab, what would you pay to get it? $150? $200? $250?

Is Nonya Kueh part of our culinary culture? I always tot it's by Peranakan which is mostly from Malacca?

No Ironman.. you sure this is from Andy Goh?

Sphere - 20170619

One of the hardest things to build in LEGO is a sphere. In fact, one of the test to become a LEGO Certified Professional is to build a sphere.

Until the day that Bruce Lowell came up with the design, the perfect sphere was a beast everyone hunted, but no one had it killed.

http://www.brucelowell.com/lowell-sphere/

The first time that I encountered this was during one of the Lugsing gathering when Andy from Andybearcreation brought his MOC: Line Rabbit and Bear. For some reason, it was extremely round and i just couldnt bring my head ard how to do it. I was considering to "accidently" drop it, to see how it is built.

When i talked to ppl about it, they say that the basis of the design was from the Lowell Sphere.

Looking at the design (even by detail) i cant make head or tail of it. I was able to understand til the part where you make a SNOT cube, but i was stuck at the part of making it round.
Ppl keep explaining to me, but somehow i just cant visualise it. Then one day, XY told me to go look at a volleyball.

That's when it all came together. In the center of the sphere is still a cube, however, each face will extend itself to cover 1 axis. The reason why i was stuck was that i was thinking of the front covering the whole front, covering 2 axis instead of only 1. End up, most of the time, i have a deformed TIE-fighter.

On the left, is a cube, and on the right is a Lowell sphere. to let you see the difference more clearly, i switched one of the side.

When you have a half plate overlapping, it gives the sphere a very round feel. If you were to upsize the build, the round look becomes very obvious.

Can you see where does the edges of the cube start? now you know why i had a hard time that time.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Official Box Art - 20170616

Personal take on this wave, yeah wave, Ninjago has gone beyond the normal series and into its own theme. This year however, we get to see 2 different story lines, releasing its own wave.

Talk abit about the the current series, Hands of Time. Ninjago series always have its inconsistent storyline, writers just throw in any wild ideas they have. You really have to open your mind alot and just enjoy the story as it is. This series you get to meet Kai and Nya's parents.

All Ninjago collectors  will always be looking for 2 things when a series is released, the minifig print and the weapons. Hands of time didnt disappoint on both counts. Weapons: Time Blades ( a gauntlet like weapon with 2 protruding blades to perhaps symbolise the hands on the clock.) Prints wise... see for yourself.

Even the parents also got awesome prints!

However, The Ninjago Movie.... i dont see any unique weapons... print-wise...

I do hope that the reason for the simplified prints is that the better prints are kept for the CMF version.

Designs for the sets are awesome, cant wait to build them. but can wait for better discount. no choice, normal salary man here. nothing in it for me to actively review and post.

Would say that villians this round are interesting. first MOC that will come to mind will be the classic "Monkey God Raids Eastern Dragon Palace" scene. Take a look for yourself. ;)

I do notice that a number of new head pieces. Does this forebodes the return of Castle subtheme Ninja? maybe no go...
