Facebook missing post - 20150930

There was a post yesterday, regarding purchasing of a set and due to the source being from a different place than the one described, some unhappiness over it.

I had made a comment to keep myself in the loop, hoping to come back for a more detailed reply, but the post is missing now. Thanks for reminding me again why I set up this blog.

so.... here is it.

Its true that the price paid was the same as the one agreed upon in the first place. so why should the buyer be unhappy?

Financially, there is not difference to the buyer. The only thing different was that the description of the source of the item is different. It was from LEGOLAND Malaysia instead of locally as described.

To the seller, the difference might be ard 10% difference in the cost.

Lets assumed the seller has bought 2 sets. one locally and the other from LLM. (actually its highly likely the seller bought 2 sets in order to have it in the brown box.) If the seller passed the locally purchased set to the buyer, nothing would have happened. However, in this scenario, the LLM set was passed to the buyer and he found out.

Physically, the buyer has received a slightly less minty box, as there will definitely be bumping ard from its journey from LLM and LLM usually do not release its brown carton. meaning no protection.

Emotionally, This is the part that will bug the buyer most. He trusted the person as a friend, but the friend didn't reciprocate his trust. If the seller had told him the full story before hand, he might have agreed. After all, a builder wont need a minty box. Only a reseller does. The truth was hidden for a purpose. Only the seller will know, whether its intentional or set up.

End of the day, its hard knowing that someone whom you looked upon as a friend, only treats you as a customer. Its not easy...
