When I first started out in LEGO, there was only 1 forum in SG on LEGO. Today, we have at least 4 I know of. Lets go down the memory path with me.
The very first LEGO forum I knew was S0937fg. http://s0937fg.proboards.com/. S for Singapore. 0937 is LEGO when you flip it over. fg is for Fan Group.
It's pretty much dead now, but there was a time when it was the ideal forum. Everyone was eager to help one another get cheap sets at no extra charge. Most discussions were about how interesting were builts, what were the new parts coming and how would they impact the current building methods. We gathered once a month at Harbourfront Center's mac to build and talk. The public was always welcomed to come and join in the wonder. Although messy, gatherings were always warm and friendly.
How did it fall apart? Well, I wasn't part of the internal group so it was never openly made known to me. What was told was that the founder and moderators had some disagreement over the direction of the group and the moderators were kicked.
Then LUGSING started under Gonebananaz and BlackBulb.http://lugsing.forumotion.com/
It's also dead now... Well, in the first place, it never got as lively as the old number forum. Why does it seems to be still alive? It just died, give it some time to cool down. Then whether it died in 2013 or died in 2015 doesn't really make a difference. Gatherings were held monthly at Make Space, 318c, King George's Ave, King George's Building, Singapore 208563. It was private, it was hard to get to, it was not the number forum.
Did it die? Nope. As long as 1 person is alive, the forum will NEVER DIE!!!! Anyway, Gonebananaz went out with the group of moderators to set up a new forum. Reason? Too much restriction. Too little events.
So BUGS was created. http://bugs.sg/forums/ Brick User Group Singapore.
Forum? Pretty quiet. Facebook? Also quiet. Why? Key members too busy running events and stuff. Lets face it, forums and facebooks are simply too slow when compared to using a WhatsApp group to communicate. Gatherings are held monthly on the 3rd friday of the month at Bricks n Cubes, The Cathay, 2 Handy Road #02-12/14, Singapore, Singapore 229233.

Little red brick happened before BUGS was created, a branch out by a member who shall not be named, to do more in terms of event and reaching out the the public. Gathering happens when it happens. Happens where it happens.
Which forum am I in currently you might ask? Well, actually none. All of them have directions where they want to go and I sort of don't really blend in? Worry not, it's not who you are with, where you are at, just play on and play good.
