When did the world first know about the LEGO community in singapore?
Officially, a MOCer from Singapore placed his name on the literary world in 2 different books.
Standing Small by Nevin Martell
Minifigure Customization: Populate Your World! by Jared K. Burks
Nickgreat is his name and great he was.
What kind of person is he? very soft-spoken, very quiet, you can ask him anything and he will answer, but when the questions stops, the silence is eerie...
Here are the works of MOC that placed him on the map. Colours of Samurai
I had once asked him how much will he sell them for? Can we mass produce them and profit from it?
his reply was...
Nick: how much would you pay for one of it?
Randy: hmmm... maybe 50 per samurai?
Nick smiling: that wont even cover the cost of the parts, not to mention the hours spend to spray paint, decal, glue, cut, sand, file (you get the idea)
Nick: the green goblin helmet was 18 to 20 apiece (don't know why now suddenly got cheaper, perhaps we have china to thank for that.) do you know how many have to sacrificed to get the perfect one?
That moment, I had a glimpse into the world of MOCer, a world where ppl does not care much about the money they need to pour in to get the perfect piece. The soul of a craftsman.
after that meeting, he faded away again...
After many years, he came out shockingly with creation out of every fanboy's dreams.Belowe are some of the links to him. do take a look
